Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic This Weekend at SSP

3rd Annual Miller's Racing Classic Ready for Action on Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21 at SSP

NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (October 16, 2006) - The 3rd Annual Millers Racing Parts Fall Classic on Friday and Saturday, October 20 & 21 will feature the Street Stocks, Four Cylinder Stock Cars, Xtreme Stock Cars and ARDC Midgets. The popular Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic has been expanded to a two day show for 2006 with qualifying on Friday and last chance qualifying races and features on Saturday afternoon. The ARDC Midgets will only compete on Saturday.

The Friday night, October 20 show will consist of qualifying heat races for Street Stocks and Four Cylinder Stock Cars along with a 25-lap Xtreme Stock Car "Rookie Rumble" race and 15-lap Mini Van "Super Oval" race.

Gates will open on Friday for both the pit area and grandstand area at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 6:45 p.m. with racing action beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Grandstand ticket prices on Friday are $8.00 for adults and teens (13 years of age and older) and children (12 & under) are free. All children (12 & under) will receive a gift certificate good for an ice cream dessert compliments of any participating Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill. Pit pass prices are $15.00 with a minimum age requirement of 14 years of age. Two day pit passes for Friday and Saturday will be $30.00.

The Saturday, October 21, the show will feature a 50-lap features (all green flag laps with no scheduled fuel stops) for the Street Stocks, Four Cylinder Stocks and Xtreme Stock Cars. There will also be last chance qualifying races for the Street Stocks and Four Cylinder Stock Cars. Heats and a feature for the wingless ARDC Midgets has also been rescheduled for Saturday, October 21.

The Street Stock feature event will pay $3,000.00 to the winner and is sponsored by Insinger Performance Fuels, Miller's Racing Parts and Salisbury Mechanical Services. All qualifying will be done through heats, C-Main and B-Main events. There will be an inversion drawn for the feature event. A blind draw will determine the heat race lineups.

The Street Stock feature winner will receive a gift certificate for two-(2) complimentary meals per month for the next 12 months from any participating Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grille and one-(1) complimentary Hoosier Racing tire from Miller's Racing Parts in Mechanicsburg. The Hard Luck Award of $100.00 will be presented "In memory of Gary Miller from your wife and daughters." The Hard Charger Award will receive a $50 bonus compliment of KRS Graphics in Mechanicsburg.

Street Stock heat races are presented by Dellinger's Auto Body in Mechanicsburg and pay $25.00 to win, $15.00 for second and $10.00 for third. All heat race winners will also receive a $50.00 gift certificate from any participating Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grille.

The Four Cylinder Stock Car feature event will pay $1,500.00 to the winner. All qualifying will be done through heats, C-Main and B-Main events. There will be an inversion drawn for the feature event. A blind draw will determine the heat race lineups. The Hard Charger Award for the Xtreme Stock Cars will receive a $50 bonus compliment of KRS Graphics in Mechanicsburg. The Xtreme Stock Car "Rookie Rumble" feature will be on Friday. SSP News and Notes:

- Speedway Flea Market Continues Every Sunday - The "new" Speedway Flea Market continues every Sunday morning 6:00 a.m.  There will be plenty of things for everyone.  Vendor fees are $10.00 per day and setup begins at 5:30 a.m.  Space will be limited to a "reasonable" amount for each vendor.  Food and drink vendors are not permitted.  This flea market will continue every Sunday throughout the rest of the year.

 

- 2nd Annual Candy Bowl on Saturday, October 28 - The 2nd Annual Candy Bowl presented by J&K Auto Salvage will be held on Saturday, October 28.  This event will feature the wingless ARDC Midgets, 600cc Micro Sprints, Legends Cars, Lincoln Thundercars, W.O.W. (Women on Wheels) Stocks Cars.  After the event, all teams are encouraged to stay for trick or treating in the pits with all kids in costumes.  All children (12 & under) should be in costumes for the trick or treating after the races.

- Racecar Flea Market on Saturday, November 4 - SSP will host a racecar flea market with all forms of racing welcome on Saturday, November 4.  Vendor fees are $10.00 per day and setup begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday night.  Plenty of "bargains" for the 2007 season will be available.

 

 

- 3rd Annual Turkey 200 on Saturday, November 11 - On Saturday afternoon, November 11, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will host the 3rd Annual Turkey 200 Enduro race.  As a bonus attraction, the Great American School Buses, Classic Cars and Mini Vans will take to the track before the 200 lap Enduro event.  Fans will also be given complimentary school bus rides around the track at 12:30 p.m.  The Enduro event will follow the specifications for the Xtreme Stock Car division that ran weekly at SSP during the 2006 season.  

 

The Turkey 200 event will be 200 laps regardless of the number of entries.  The purse payout will be based on entry numbers: 75 or more entries: 1. $1,000.00; 2. $600.00; 3. $500.00; 4. $350.00; 5. $250.00 / 61 - 74  entries: 1. $700.00; 2. $500.00; 3. $400.00; 4. $300.00; 5. $200.00 / 51 - 60 entries: 1. $600.00; 2. $400.00; 3. $300.00; 4. $200.00; 5. $150.00 / 41 - 50 entries: 1. $500.00; 2. $300.00; 3. $200.00; 4. $150.00; 5. $100.00 / 31 - 40 entries: 1. $400.00; 2. $200.00; 3. $150.00; 4. $100.00; 5. $  75.00 / 30 or less entries: 1. $300.00; 2. $150.00; 3. $100.00; 4. $  75.00; 5. $  50.00        

Pre-entry for the event is encouraged but not mandatory.  A Pre-entry fee is $50.00 and must be postmarked by Friday, November 3, 2006.  All entries postmarked on or after November 4, 2006 will be $75.00.  Entries will be taken on the day of the event.  The starting positions for the Turkey 200 will be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on the day of the event.  As a special bonus, all pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a starting position if he or she does not like their first draw for position.  However, the entrant must take the second drawn spot regardless of whether or not it is a better starting position. - SSP Point Standings - A complete listing of 2006 SSP Point Championships may be found at sspracing.net.  All point championships are complete with the exception of the ARDC Midgets (Oct. 28) and the Classic Cars (October 7).

 

- York Dirt Trackin' 2007 - The 24th edition of the Dirt Trackin' Show will be held once again at the York Fairgrounds, in the Memorial Hall Expo Center January 26, 27 & 28, 2007.  Last year's event had the most cars and vendors ever, and this year should continue in the same upward spiral.  There will be no increase in the ticket prices, so adults can still join in the fun for only $10, students are only $5, and children six years of age and under are always free when accompanied by an adult.  Show times will tentatively be Friday from 4-11, Saturday 10-10, and Sunday 10-4.  The 10'x10' vendor spaces will also remain the same for 2007 at $150.00 for the entire weekend. 


Scheduled to appear this year will be the PWE Wrestlers on Saturday night, the Ms. Dirt Trackin' Contest and Jazz Me Band on Friday night, a morning worship service with Hearts in Harmony, and Kid's Day on Sunday. Other celebrities are currently being contacted to add even more to the show that pleases everyone. There will be a little bit for everyone to see and do from go karts to Nascars, remote control race cars, simulators, speedway schedules, food, the York County Racing club display, giveaways, and lots of fans, drivers, and crew members all ready to have a good time at Dirt Trackin' 2007.
