USAC/BCRA MIDGETS SQUARE OFF AT MADERA SATURDAY

 

 

            The stars and cars of both USAC's Western Midget Series and the Bay Cities Racing Association (BCRA) will compete in Saturday's "Open Wheel Championship Night" events at the Madera (Calif.) Speedway.

 

            USAC point leaders Jerome Rodela and Chase Barber and BCRA leaders John Sarale and Floyd Alvis are among drivers expected to be top threats for victory in Saturday's scheduled 30-lap feature.

 

            Defending USAC Western Champ Rodela leads Barber by 101 points in the USAC tally, while defending BCRA titlist Sarale is 81 ahead of 7-time champion Alvis.

 

            Two previous USAC Midget outings at Madera this season resulted in feature victories for Garratt Boyden and Bobby Grewohl, neither of which is currently in the USAC "top-10."
