JAG Media Holdings, Inc. Announces Trial Deployment of its SurvayaCam Mobile Video Surveillance Product
BOCA RATON, Fla.--JAG Media Holdings, Inc. (OTC PINK SHEETS: JAGH) announced today that its SurvayaCam mobile video surveillance product, which is marketed in England and Europe through the Company’s subsidiary, Pixaya (UK) Limited, will be deployed on a trial basis by a local taxi company in Batley, West Yorkshire, England. Oakwell Taxis of Batley will have a test unit installed in one of its cars and evaluate the SurvayaCam mobile video surveillance product during the trial period to determine its effectiveness in helping the company combat increasing acts of violence against its taxi drivers. SurvayaCam is a wireless mobile video surveillance product that can be used as a body-worn or fixed installation solution, which allows users to record surveillance video locally to a handheld computer, while simultaneously streaming the live video back to a central command area, via multiple connection types such as Wi-Fi, EVDO and HSDPA, where it can be monitored in real-time and archived.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to test this new video surveillance product, which we hope will enhance our drivers’ safety,” said Shafaat Ali, part owner of Oakwell Taxis. “Acts of violence against our drivers have become an increasing problem, but now, with SurvayaCam, we think we have a solution that can provide the evidence necessary for the prosecution of these perpetrators,” continued Ali.
Mr. Ali of Oakwell Taxis, along with local government officials, security companies and resellers, were in attendance at a demonstration of the SurvayaCam mobile video surveillance product held at the offices of Pixaya (UK) Limited, in Batley, West Yorkshire.
Douglas Halliday, group licensing officer for Kirklees Council, which serves the eleven areas that comprise Kirklees Council, including the Batley area of West Yorkshire, said, ”I thoroughly enjoyed the demonstration of SurvayaCam and fully support any technology that can increase the safety of taxi drivers throughout Kirklees.”
Mike Wood, a member of Parliament representing the Batley area, who also attended the demonstration, commented, “You can see how cutting-edge this technology is. The company has my full support. This is exactly the type of company we need in Batley.”
“We have been very encouraged by the response to SurvayaCam,” said Stewart McLean, Managing Director of Pixaya (UK) Limited. “Violence against taxi drivers is not just a local problem, but is a worldwide problem, and we believe SurvayaCam can provide that industry with a flexible and cost-effective solution to increase the safety of its drivers. One of the most attractive features of SurvayaCam is its flexibility, which its use by the taxi industry clearly demonstrates. SurvayaCam can be used as a rapid deployment surveillance solution or as a fixed installation surveillance solution and can be configured to work on any wireless LAN or Wi-Fi network, and can be further enhanced to enable the deployment of SurvayaCam transmitters and cameras via 3G connections, such as EVDO and HSDPA. In essence, SurvayaCam is the next generation of mobile video surveillance . . . surveillance without boundaries,” continued McLean.
