Navicore Announces New Version of Navicore Personal, GPS Navigation Software for Connected Mobile Devices

Navicore, a leading European provider of easy-to-use GPS navigation software for smartphones, today announced the latest version of its award-winning GPS navigation product for connected mobile devices, Navicore Personal 2007.
Navicore Personal is specifically developed for connected mobile devices. It is not only a full navigation system for use when driving, cycling or walking, but also a convenient pocket guide that includes most public roads and thousands of points-of-interest such as restaurants, hotels, petrol stations and local tourist venues.
Navicore Personal 2007 includes a host of new features that further expand the possibilities of GPS navigation on mobile devices:
- Extended map coverage
Navicore Personal 2007 uses the latest, premium quality digital maps from Tele Atlas and Navteq, the leading map providers in the industry. Navicore Personal 2007 has detailed street maps containing street names and street numbers. In addition to detailed coverage of continental Europe and Scandinavia, Navicore Personal 2007 will introduce extensive optional map packages for North America, and selected countries in Africa and Asia Pacific in the coming months.
- Extended platform support
Navicore Personal 2007 will continue to support all Symbian platforms - including S60 (also S60 3rd edition) and S80, as well as the new Symbian UIQ 3, and additionally introduces support for the new Linux Internet Tablet OS 2006 Edition.
- Navigation Kit for Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
Navicore and Nokia announced today that Navicore Personal 2007 will be available as a full Navigation Kit for the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet. Navicore Personal on the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet takes the best features of the navigation software to a new level, with Internet enhanced navigation that truly complements the high-resolution widescreen display and Wi-Fi connectivity of the device. Internet enhanced navigation helps people on the move to access various Internet services directly from the map, and to easily navigate to interesting locations found from the Internet.
- Navicore Update online service
Navicore Update is a state of the art online service that provides Navicore Personal users software and map updates as well as extra downloadable content such as points-of-interest and voice guidance extensions easily on PC.
- Free Upgrade Campaign for Navicore Personal 2006 users from Sept 1st[1]
Navicore customers who have activated their previous software version, Navicore Personal 2006, between September 1, 2006 and January 31, 2007 can upgrade their software free of charge during the same period through the Navicore Update service.
- Easy and flexible user interface with rich mobile navigation features
Navicore Personal 2007 has clear visual and voice guidance and extremely fast routing, with either the fastest or the shortest route and automatic rerouting in case users stray from the route or wish to avoid roadblocks ahead. Dynamic routing helps to avoid traffic jams, toll roads, ferry connections or other roadblocks. Pedestrian, cycling and car navigation modes can be selected for optimal route selection depending on mode of travel. Location messaging enables users to locate friends and family on the map and share own location with them. Navicore Personal includes free traffic information[2] and free updates to the safety camera information(x)

[1] As a part of the Navicore Personal 2007 launch campaign, Navicore will offer to its end-users the ability to upgrade their Navicore Personal 2006/1 free of charge to Navicore Personal 2007 - or corresponding product if such exists. The offer is valid from 1.9.2006 until 31.1.2007. This upgrade campaign is a one time campaign, not rule of conduct. In order to be eligible for the upgrade campaign, Navicore Personal 2006/1 product must have been activated between 1.9.2006 and 31.1.2007. The activation time is recorded when an end-user activates Navicore Personal 2006/1 for the first time using either a SMS or GPRS connection. Products activated outside the defined period are not eligible for the upgrade campaign. The upgrade is available only as a software download through Navicore Update web service and for the same map region as the originally registered Navicore Personal 2006/1 if such exists.
