DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 13 -- Having attained worldwide recognition as a wildlife and landscape artist, Robert Seabeck has turned his creative talents to the world of automobiles. On Thursday, October 19th, from 6 - 8 p.m., visitors to the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Mich., can meet the artist during a special reception that precedes the opening of an exhibition of Seabeck's work. The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, October 20 and runs through June 30, 2007.

According to the artist himself, Seabeck's passion to paint automobiles is rooted in a deep appreciation for smooth metal, clean lines, glistening chrome, intense colors and an awareness of the craftsmanship needed to produce these creations. His automotive art reflects his interest in color and unique perspectives, and ranges from photo-realistic to impressionistic. He entertains a special interest in hot rodding and land speed racing, which is reflected in many of his works. Among other awards and recognitions, Seabeck was awarded a best in show at a juried exhibition at the 2005 annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show.

"We are honored to have an artist of Bob Seabeck's caliber at the Automotive Hall of Fame," said Jeff Leestma, president of the Automotive Hall of Fame. "In preserving the history of the automotive and transportation industry, it is important that we also showcase these visual representations as a permanent record of the richness of that history."

The Automotive Hall of Fame, located in Dearborn, Mich., is the only industry-wide means to honor the men and women of the global motor vehicle and related industries. It is dedicated to preserving the history of mobility by celebrating the creativity, toil and genius of the individual. The Automotive Hall of Fame is both a visitor attraction and an educational resource for inspiring others to higher levels of achievement on their own work and lives.
