NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals at South Georgia Motorsports Park

CECIL, Ga. - The top drivers in NHRA's Southeast Division Summit Racing Series have converged on South Georgia Motorsports Park to compete for team and individual honors at the 2006 Summit Racing Series Southeast Division Finals. The event will continue Friday and Saturday. Drivers in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Super Pro Bike categories represent 18 tracks vying for team and individual honors.

Gates at South Georgia Motorsports Park open at 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Time trials continue Friday at 9 a.m. and the Race of Champions, a race within a race that will pit the top points-earning drivers from each track in head-to-head competition, will begin Friday at 5 p.m. Eliminations for the NHRA Summit Racing Series Southeast Division Finals will begin Sunday at 9 a.m.

The winners in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Super Pro Bike will advance to a national run-off in November at the NHRA Auto Club of Southern California Finals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, Calif. Each category winner will square off against the NHRA Summit Finals champions from NHRA's other six divisions for a winner-take-all $5,000 purse. Each of the drivers who advance to Pomona will receive an additional $3,500 for competing at Auto Club Raceway.
