AFV Institute Expands Alternative Fuel Information Services

Las Vegas, NV-The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVI) announced today a partnership with Clean Energy to expand efforts to provide vital information to alternative fuel end users that will help them make vehicle purchasing decisions. The unprecedented interest and rapid growth in the alternative fuels market has resulted in greater demand for information. AFVI provides services that bring fleets in need of information together with a national team of fuel and technology neutral experts who can fit them with the fuels and vehicles that work for them.

The additional new education services include:

* One-day forums that provide connections with peers through regional and national networks

* Webcasts and newsletters that link fleet professionals with experienced industry leaders

* Linkages between fleets and experienced industry leaders through substantive interactions

* An enhanced website that will provide a range of information resources from technical support to industry contacts

"What we are doing is augmenting the core business that we've developed during the past two decades. Focused attention on the use of alternative fuels and vehicles that are here today has been a core mission for us," said Annalloyd Thomason, Executive Director of AFVI. "What's new is that the support from Clean Energy allows us to expand the ways we deliver relevant information to fleets and others. That expansion will be evident during the next several months."

Clean Energy is the largest provider of vehicular natural gas (CNG and LNG) in North America with a broad customer base in the refuse, transit, shuttle, taxi, intrastate and interstate trucking, airport and municipal fleet markets with tens of thousands of vehicles fueling at strategic locations in the United States and Canada. They have provided extensive service to both fleet customers and non-governmental organizations with whom they partner to advance the use of alternative fuels.

AFVI is the education provider and information link between the alternative fuels and vehicles industry and public/private fleets and other proponents of alternative fuels. AFVI offers education and technical training, technical consulting, and business planning and management. AFVI's objective is to work toward a stable supply of fuel with the least harmful environmental impact. AFVI works with industry partners to provide the leadership, educational opportunities, vision, and the momentum to catalyze the transition to a cleaner, less fossil fuel dependent nation.
