CarMax Launches Personalized Shopping Tool on carmax.com

MyCarMax Allows Consumers to Save Search Criteria and Information on Favorite Cars

RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 12 -- CarMax, Inc. , the nation's largest retailer of used cars, today launched a personalized shopping tool to make searching for vehicles easier on carmax.com. By logging onto http://www.carmax.com/ and registering for MyCarMax, customers can save their vehicle search criteria, as well as save and compare information on their favorite cars.

"CarMax's no-haggle, no-hassle, easy car buying process has always been about giving customers what they want in the car shopping experience," said Tom Folliard, president and chief executive officer of CarMax. "It is only natural for us to offer new, innovative features on carmax.com that provide online consumers more information and control of their car shopping and purchasing decisions."

Most customers visit carmax.com multiple times to search CarMax's national inventory of more than 20,000 vehicles before selecting a car to purchase. The new MyCarMax personalized shopping feature will save time for customers by allowing them to pre-select any combination of vehicle search criteria. Customers can use their saved criteria to instantly search the vehicle inventory whenever they visit the website.

The MyCarMax tool will also allow customers to save information on all of their favorite vehicles. This information can then be viewed and compared from a personal custom page that the customer controls. In addition, MyCarMax will provide contact and location information for the closest CarMax store.

Carmax.com provides actual pricing, multiple photos, and a list of features for each vehicle in the company's nationwide inventory of more than 20,000 vehicles. In addition, CarMax offers a vehicle transfer service that provides customers easy access to the retailer's entire nationwide used car inventory.

CarMax offers consumers a no-hassle, no-haggle car-buying experience, and a broad selection of high-quality used vehicles. CarMax guarantees the quality of the cars sold, does not sell flood or frame-damaged vehicles, and guarantees a clean title and accurate odometer readings on its cars. All vehicles are thoroughly inspected and reconditioned, and CarMax offers a five- day, money-back guarantee and a limited 30-day warranty (60-day in CT).
