Downing Street Garage Knows Consumers Want Quality & Trust in Auto Repair
DENVER--Downing Street Garage received yet another award as one of the winner’s in Motor Age magazine’s “Top Vehicle Repair Shops”(a) featured in a special September 2006 issue of the magazine.
Winning shops were chosen by a panel of qualified judges based on originality, practical business sense and creativity. To help determine the winners, photographs and essays were submitted by each repair shop describing the history of their business and information on merchandising, customer service and community service practices.
“We had some outstanding shops apply for this contest,” said Bill Cannon, Motor Age editor-in-chief. “The level of sophistication and expertise that they demonstrated is a testimony to the professionalism that is abundant in the entire U.S. motor vehicle repair industry.”
A 2005 study (b) conducted by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) cited quality and trust as the leading factors when choosing an auto repair garage. This award illustrates Downing Street Garage’s commitment to their values. “It’s an honor to be recognized for doing what we’ve felt was right since we started our business,” said Douglass Kirchdorfer, co-owner of the shop. “I think it’s important to be recognized more for who we are, and what our values are, than just for what we do,” remarked Rebecca Kirchdorfer. “A person’s core values come from inside ... it’s something you live from the inside out. It’s a real privilege to be honored for that.”
Downing Street Garage was awarded the 2003 Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, the 2004 Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance Award and the 2004 International Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
