NHRA South Central Summit Finals Saturday from Texas Motorplex

RACE OF CHAMPIONS WINNERS CROWNED AT 
SOUTH CENTRAL SUMMIT FINALS

ENNIS, Texas - The first round of champions were crowned today at the NHRA South Central Division Summit Finals. James McNeal, Gary Bates, Derrick Patton, and Bryce Isaacs were the big Race of Champions winners. The Race of Champions is a race within a race that match up the top point earners of each track in the South Central Division.

McNeal of Paris, Texas, racing for Paris Dragstrip, finished strong with a pass of 7.789 seconds at 170.60 mph to take home a trophy in the Electronics category. McNeal defeated Sarah Lujan of Artesia, N.M., racing for Hobbs Motorsports Park.

In the No Electronics category, Bates of Wichita Falls, Texas, representing Wichita Raceway, ran 10.384 seconds to defeat Jeff Foreman of Odessa, Texas. Foreman represents Hobbs Motorsports Park.

The High School Race of Champions winner was Derrick Patton of Houston Raceway Park who made a final pass of 21.783 seconds at 48.66 mph. Patton beat out Ross Ragland of Thunder Valley Raceway Park.

Bryce Isaacs, racing for Cherokee County Motorsports Park, found the winner's circle in the Manager's Race. Isaac's pass of 15.788 seconds at 80.42 mph was good enough to defeat Brent Groves of Denton Dragway who ran 16.588 seconds at 80.12 mph.
