ArvinMeritor Light Vehicle Systems Warranty Director Receives Automotive Hall of Fame Young Leadership and Excellence Award

DETROIT, Oct. 4, 2006 -- Aaron Bickford, director of Enterprise Risk Management for ArvinMeritor, Inc. , is the recipient of a Young Leadership and Excellence Award. The award, presented last night by the Automotive Hall of Fame, recognizes individuals age 35 and under who demonstrate significant potential as future leaders within the automotive industry.

"Aaron's career is distinguished by his drive to improve organizational performance," said Bob Seed, vice president of Global Sales and Marketing for ArvinMeritor's Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) business group. "ArvinMeritor's success in warranty management is inextricably linked to Aaron's insight and leadership. We are proud that his accomplishments are recognized with this award."

Bickford was instrumental in guiding the LVS Warranty Team through the contemporary model for managing field performance, and the accompanying risk and costs of warranty. His holistic approach to the risk and management of field failures requires integrating knowledge and resources across a broad spectrum of activities.

He has been involved with the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) since 2003, and served as the founding chairman of the group's Warranty Council in 2005.

Bickford joined ArvinMeritor in 1999 as a Corporate Finance intern, and -- from 2003 to October 2006 -- was director of Warranty for LVS. Prior to joining ArvinMeritor, he was employed as an account manager at Boise Cascade Office Products in Houston, Texas, after working as an account manager for Curtis 1000 (Division of American Business Products), in Baton Rouge, La.

He lives in Huntington Woods, Mich., and holds a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
