JWT Adds Creative Strength to Ford Account

Toby Barlow Joins JWT Detroit as Executive Creative Director

DETROIT, Oct. 3 -- Bob Jeffrey, worldwide CEO and chairman of JWT, the largest advertising agency in the U.S. and fourth largest in the world, today announced that Toby Barlow is the new executive creative director for JWT Detroit.

Currently executive creative director for JWT NY, Barlow will be moving to Detroit to lead the Ford business. He has been a key member of the Ford BOLDMOVES launch team, in addition to leading the creative on Kleenex, Diamond Trading Company and Welch's.

Barlow is a highly awarded creative leader with recognition from the Cannes Advertising Festival, EFFIE, One Show, Communication Arts, ANDY and San Francisco show. He worked at Chiat Day and Hal Riney before joining JWT. At Hal Riney, he worked on Saturn for nine years, thus adding even more automotive depth to the Detroit office's outstanding team.

Barlow will be moving to Michigan and will partner with George S. Rogers, JWT Detroit president and CEO and report to Ty Montague, JWT co-president and chief creative officer, JWT NY.

"Toby's ability to bring real creative energy and new media thinking to every campaign he has ever worked on will be a real plus for our Ford client," said Rogers. "His experience on the Ford business is an asset as we continue the aggressive BOLDMOVES platform with the automaker's upcoming product launches."

Montague added, "Toby is a great creative talent who is comfortable working in both traditional and non-traditional media. His work at JWT NY has been instrumental in setting the bar, and we are thrilled to promote him from within."

Tom Cordner, current worldwide creative director, is resigning from JWT to pursue other opportunities.

"I can't thank Tom enough for his three exceptional years of service to JWT," said Jeffrey. "He's done some amazing work during his tenure here. We wish him all the best."
