Pierre Bourque Comments On Canadian NASCAR Busch Series Race
MONTREAL, Canada (Monday, October 2, 2006) - - The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) announced today the sanction will take another step to compete internationally by competing at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada with the NASCAR Busch Series on August 4, 2007. With today’s announcement Canada is the third country to host a NASCAR Busch Series race next season. In addition to the United States, the NBS will return to Mexico competing at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, in Mexico City, Mexico for a third consecutive season on March 4, 2007.
Pierre Bourque, a native of Ottawa, Ontario has spent the 2006 season competing in the NASCAR Busch East Series and plans to attempt to make the NASCAR Busch Series race in Montreal next year.
Bourque, the only full-time Canadian competing in NASCAR this season offered this statement about today’s exciting announcement: "This is absolutely fantastic news for Canadian Motorsports fans. NASCAR is the most exciting form of racing in the world. We're in for a heck of a treat! I know the track and I know the cars. I will be entering that race, aiming to be extremely competitive, and hoping for a top five finish next year."
