First Champions Crowned at Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals
TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 26, 2006) - The first 38 SCCA National Championships
were decided Wednesday as the first group of classes completed
competition at The Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships, held at
Heartland Park Topeka.
The first days of competition produced both first-time winners as well
as drivers with a number of Championship awards already. John Ames, of
Colorado Springs, Colo., earned his 12th Championship by winning D
Modified, and Patty Tunnell, of Superior, Colo., captured her
11th-Career title in a run from behind in B Street Prepared Ladies. Two
drivers earned titles in their first attempt, including Shawn-Marie
Keisel, of Poway, Calif., and Amy Fair, of Plano, Texas.
