STRENGTHENS
TECHNICAL TEAM
Scuderia Toro Rosso has appointed Alex Hitzinger as its new Technical Director.
The 35 year old German will also fill the role of Head of Advanced Technologies
for Red Bull F1, looking into research and development of new technologies such
as energy recovery for future use in Formula 1.
Hitzinger takes up his new position on 1st November 2006 and will work out of the
Scuderia Toro Rosso facility in Faenza (Italy.) Since 2000, Hitzinger has worked at
Cosworth, firstly as Head of the Ford Cosworth World Rally Championship
programme and then as Head of F1 Development. Prior to that, he worked at
Toyota, on their Rally and F1 projects.
