Guy Cosmo Petit Le Mans Pre-Race Report
Guy Cosmo is set to climb back into his # 8 B-K Motorsports Mazda LMP2 car for the ninth running of the American Le Mans Series Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Cosmo will co-drive the car with teammate Jamie Bach and the legendary Elliot Forbes Robinson.In conjunction with his return to the American Le Mans Series, Cosmo will be presenting fans attending Friday's autograph session with a full color 2007 calendar/poster depicting the #8 B-K Motorsports Mazda LMP2 car.
Sidelined by crash damage suffered at Lime Rock, B-K Motorsports has been feverishly working to have the car ready for Petit and the season finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
“I’m really excited to get back behind the wheel of our Mazda LMP2 car" said Cosmo. "The B-K Motorsports crew did an outstanding job repairing our car as was proved during our successful shake-down earlier this month. I'm really looking forward to driving with Jamie and Elliott again, and glad to be back representing Mazda and our partners Road & Track and Kumho Tires."
Petit Le Mans is considered by many as the Crown Jewel of the American Le Mans 10-race season.
"Petit Le Mans will definitely prove to be one of the most exciting races of the year," continued Guy. "It is such an incredible event, and it takes place at one of my favorite race tracks."
Cosmo and the B-K Motorsports team are no strangers to the Road Atlanta podium.
"Ten hours around Road Atlanta is extremely demanding on the cars and drivers," Guy stressed. "Last year we finished 2nd at this event, so we’re hoping our Mazda reliability will bring us to the podium once again.”
The race begins at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, September 30 and continues for 10 hours or 1000 miles, whichever comes first. The race will air live.

The next round of the 2006 American Le Mans Series is the season finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey California. The race is set for October 19-21 and will air on SPEED.
