No. 40 TEAM FACTS:

 

*        Chassis:  Crew Chief Steve Lane and the No. 40 crew are taking
chassis No. 619 for the event this weekend.  This is a brand new car in
the No. 40 stable; the crew took it earlier this week to Kentucky
Speedway to shake it down for this weekend's race.

*        Testing 1,2,3: David Stremme and the Lone Star Steakhouse &
Saloon crew visited Kentucky Speedway earlier this week in preparation
for the 267-lap event this weekend at Kansas Speedway.

*        Montoya, Welcome Aboard!:  CGRFS announced Monday Juan Pablo
Montoya has been released from his Formula One contract and officially
joined the world of stock car racing, beginning with the ARCA/ReMAX
Series test session at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway earlier this week.
Montoya is also scheduled to test with the ARCA/ReMAX Series at Iowa
Speedway in Newton, Iowa this Friday, September 29.  Ganassi announced
in July Montoya had signed a multi-year deal with the CGRFS organization
to compete in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series beginning in 2007.  When the
Colombia, South America, native assumes driving duties of the No. 42
Texaco/Havoline Dodge Charger next season, he will be the first Formula
1 regular to go NEXTEL Cup racing full-time.  Stay connected to

*        Top Finishes:  Last weekend at Dover Stremme brought home his
sixth top-20 finish of the 2006 season.  His highest finish was 11th at
Loudon in July.  He has also piloted his No. 40 Dodge to 19th, 16th,
18th, 20th and 18th at Michigan, Daytona, Indianapolis, second Loudon
and second Dover respectively.    

*        Lounging at the Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon:  Stremme will be
at the local Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon this Saturday afternoon from
5 to 7 p.m. signing autographs and meeting fans at the Kansas City, MO
location.

*        Super Stats:  In his first six races of the season, Stremme had
an average starting spot of 36th and an average finishing position of
34th.  With his 20th-place starting spot and top-20 finish at Dover last
weekend, Stremme has improved on his average once again and is now
averaging a 23rd-place starting position and 27th-place finish. 

*        Knowing Kansas: Stremme has two Busch Series starts at Kansas
Speedway.  He started inside the top-10 and finished within the top-five
in 2004 but last season he had some trouble early on in the race that
ended his day on lap four.  His average start is 18th and his average
finish is 23rd.

*        Hanging at Harrah's:  Stremme will make two appearances this
weekend at Harrah's Casino's.  The first one will be on Thursday evening
from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Kansas City, Miss., location.  Then on
Friday he will be at the Mayetta, Kan., location from 7 to 9 p.m.   

*        Rookie Ranks:  Stremme is currently sixth in the Raybestos
Rookie of the Year standings.  With 144 points, he is 119 points behind
leader Denny Hamlin and only 33 points behind fifth-place Martin Truex
Jr.

*        NASCAR NEXTEL Cup points standings:  Stremme is currently 34th
in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver standings and the No. 40 Dodge is 34th
in the owner standings.  There are now eight races remaining in the 2006
season.
