Target Team Fast Facts:

Building Momentum: Sorenson and the Target team rank 15th
among their NEXTEL competitors in best performances over the last six
races. The team has accumulated 667 points over the last six races, 10
of which are bonus points rewarded for leading laps at California and
Dover. The team ranks above the No. 48 team (650) over the last six
events, which entered the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup in second place.

Sorenson Puts on the Brakes to Help Educate: This Thursday,
leading into the NASCAR competition at Kansas Speedway and another
special paint scheme weekend featuring NicoDerm CQ in the Busch Series
event, Sorenson is planning to visit a local middle school in the Kansas
City, Mo., area to help his sponsor GlaxoSmithKline and the Campaign for
Tobacco Free Kids communicate the educational message about the dangers
of smoking. He will also help recognize some students for their efforts
in increasing prevention and education about nicotine addiction. Note:
Please contact the CGRFS media relations department for more
information.

Chassis: Crew Chief Jimmy Elledge and the No. 41 Target Team
have selected chassis #612 for this weekend's NEXTEL Cup event at
Kansas. This is the same car Sorenson was leading with at California
prior to running out of fuel with two laps remaining

NEXTEL Cup Points Report: Sorenson and the No. 41 team moved up
one position to 21st in the overall standings after their 11th-place
finish in the last event at Dover. With a total of 2857 points, the
team is 52 points out of 20th and 155 out of the top 15.

Rookie Round Up: Sorenson is currently third in the Raybestos
Rookie of the Year standings with 190 points. He trails leader Denny
Hamlin by 73 points and second place Clint Bowyer by 24. Sorenson has
captured rookie of the race honors in five of the 27 races run thus far
in '06 (Atlanta - 10th, Martinsville - 12th, Michigan - fifth,
Chicagoland - seventh, Michigan 2 - eighth).

Busch Series Update: Sorenson maintained 10th in the overall
Busch Series driver standings with his sixth-place run at Dover, and he
is only eight points out of ninth heading into Kansas.

Montoya, Welcome Aboard!: CGRFS announced Monday Juan Pablo
Montoya has been released from his Formula One contract and officially
joined the world of stock car racing, beginning with the ARCA/ReMAX
Series test session at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway earlier this week.
Montoya is also scheduled to test with the ARCA/ReMAX Series at Iowa
Speedway in Newton, Iowa, this Friday, September 29. Ganassi announced
in July, Montoya had signed a multi-year deal with the CGRFS
organization to compete in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series beginning in
2007. When the Columbia, South America, native assumes driving duties
of the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Charger next season, he will be the
first Formula 1 regular to go NEXTEL Cup racing full-time. Stay

Reed Sorenson on Kansas...

"I'm pretty excited about this weekend's race. We're taking the same
car we almost won with at California, and we've got a new engine package
we're trying out that I'm told has more torque. The car drove really
well at California, and although it's a little bigger than Kansas both
tracks have about the same banking. We'll probably unload with a
similar setup and adjust on it to suit the track.

"The Target team is coming off a great run at Dover and we're all
looking to repeat that performance this weekend. I know I keep saying
it, but things really seem to be coming together. The last few weeks
I've felt like we've had very competitive race cars, and it's a great
feeling to go into a race thinking you can win."
