THOMAN ON VERGE OF 1ST USAC TITLE

AS REGIONAL MIDGETS HEAD TO BERLIN RACEWAY SATURDAY

 

 

            Scott Thoman of Indianapolis is looking forward to taking home his first USAC title this weekend.

 

            Running Saturday at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich., Thoman owns a 67-point lead over Travis Young with the series finale set at the track. A feature start is all Thoman - who recorded his only 2006 victory at Mt. Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. - needs to take the crown.

 

            Young is another 54 points ahead of third-place Brian Olson.
