TONY PEDREGON AND THE Q TORQUEPOWER RACE TEAM QUALIFY FOURTH, REACH
SEMIFINAL ROUND IN TEXAS

2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series
Round 20 of 23
O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals, Texas Motorplex, Ennis, Tex. (near Dallas)
Race Date: September 22-24, 2006

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 25, 2006) - Tony Pedregon and his Q
TorquePower Race Team's consistent performance in the Nitro Funny Car
division during the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex in
Ennis, Tex., resulted in a semi-final round appearance. That effort,
combined with a fourth-place qualifying run, solidified Pedregon in fourth
place in the 2006 POWERade point standings.

"The Q TorquePower Team had a semifinal finish in Dallas and, although we
feel like we've underachieved, we at least have something good to show for
it," Pedregon explained of his consistent weekend in Dallas. "Any time you
can pinpoint where the problem is, that's encouraging, because we just have
to make a couple of adjustments and tweaks in order to be better at the next
race. This weekend we were a little too aggressive in a couple of areas and
got beat by Robert (Hight, eventual winner) because we were trying to run
too hard. The climate threw a curve at us as well with the drastically
changing conditions from Friday to Sunday. The good news is we know the
areas to address and we'll be fine in Reading, where we'll return as
defending champions. I am also looking forward to returning to Reading
which has many Hispanic NHRA fans. We'll go to the remaining four races,
which are good tracks with a nice climate so I'm very encouraged. Overall
the Q Power Team had a good weekend and we came out of it with some positive
momentum heading into the next race in Reading."

NEXT RACE: September 29-October 1, 2006 - NHRA Nationals, Maple Grove
Raceway, Reading, Penn. (make-up date from rained out Sept. 15-17 weekend).
