21st ANNUAL NHRA O"REILLY FALL NATIONALS
TEXAS MOTORPLEX - DALLAS
SEPTEMBER 21-17, 2006

QUALIFYING:
#2: 6.713 seconds at 205.07 mph

ELIMINATIONS:
Round 1: Line (6.643/206.70) def. V. Gaines (6.687/207.24)
Round 2: Line (6.674/205.85) lost to Mike Edwards (6.691/206.35)

Line turned back in round 2

ENNIS, Texas. (September 24, 2006) - With teammate Greg Anderson, who is
second in the POWERade Pro Stock point standings, out in the opening
round and Dave Connolly, third in points, out in the second round, Jason
Line was turned back by Mike Edwards in round two of the NHRA O'Reilly
Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec.

Edwards gained a starting line advantage of 37 hundredths of a second
over Line, driver of one of the two KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing
Equipment-backed Pontiac GTOs. Line's pass of 6.674 seconds was two
hundredth of a second short. Edwards covered the Texas Motorplex
quarter-mile in 6.691 seconds.

"It's a little depressing to lose, as a loss always it," said Line,
after he lost in the second round to Edwards. "Both (teammate) Greg
(Anderson) and I had the best cars this weekend and, forgetting about
points, should have been running in the money round today. It didn't
happen. We both came up short, but in the point battle it turned out to
be pretty much a wash.

"In that (second) round we had a small mechanical problem - a valve
spring - otherwise I think I might have got him on the top end. But it
wasn't to be. Also, as the reaction times indicate, I wasn't as good as
I should have been up front. No room for error in the Pro Stock class."

With four races on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing schedule, the POWERade
Pro Stock point battle unofficially shakes out as follows: 1.) Jason
Line, 1,358 points; 2.) Greg Anderson, 1,280 (-78); and Dave Connolly,
1,218 (-140).

ESPN2 will air same-day television coverage of eliminations from the
21st annual NHRA O'Reilly Fall Nationals from 7 until 10 p.m., tonight
(Sunday, Sept. 24). The elimination show repeats early Thursday morning
(Sept. 28) from 3-5 a.m. Television times are Eastern Time (ET) and
subject to change at anytime. Check local listings.

Line and his KB Racing LLC/Summit Racing Equipment team now return to
Reading, Penn., and Maple Grove Raceway, for the NHRA Toyo Tires
Nationals, which was postponed two weeks ago. The event is scheduled
for this coming weekend, Sept. 29-Oct. 1.

KB Racing LLC is owned by Las Vegas businessmen Ken Black and his son
Kenny Black. KB Racing LLC fields two Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock
Pontiac GTOs, one driven by Greg Anderson and the other by Jason Line,
in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Anderson has won three
consecutive POWERade Pro Stock Championships (2003-2005) and was named
the 2004 Speed Channel Driver of the Year. After finishing second in
2004 in the POWERade point standings, Line was honored with the 2004
Automobile Club of Southern California Road to the Future award,
presented to the most outstanding rookie in a NHRA professional
category. In the 2005-point standings, Line finished third. This year
KB Racing LLC also began fielding a Top Fuel Dragster, managed by
Kalitta Motorsports, with rookie Top Fuel driver Hillary Will handling
the driving duties.
