SATURDAY QUALIFYING SHORTENED BY RAIN AT NATIONAL TRAIL RACEWAY'S NHRA LUCAS
OIL DRAG RACING SERIES

            HEBRON, Ohio - Qualifying and time trials at National Trail
Raceway's NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event were again cut short by
rain.  After waiting several hours for the skies to clear, NHRA and track
officials opted to call it a day and give competitors one more qualifying
shot on Sunday prior to starting eliminations.

In Top Alcohol Dragster, Dave Hirata of Lowell, Ind., set the pace with a
5.362-second, 265.38 mph pass.  No. 2 qualifier, Bill Reichert, Owosso,
Mich., laid down a 5.389-second run at 267.39 mph.  Top Alcohol Funny Car
racer Frank Manzo, Morganville, N.J., leads the field with a 5.710-second,
253.42 mph effort.  Muncie, Ind., resident Danny Townsend is in the second
qualifying spot with a 5.795-second, 247.93 mph run.  Reichert and Manzo are
both in the hunt for a national championship and as the 2006 season winds
down, the race at National Trail Raceway could be key to those title hunts.

Bo Butner of Floyds Knobs, Ind., heads up Comp Eliminator qualifying and Ray
Vierheller, Barberton, Ohio, is No. 1 in Super Stock.  Tony Goodman of
Zeeland, Mich., is the top qualifier in Stock Eliminator while Benton, Ill.,
racer Rick Cord leads Top Sportsman.

            Racing continues Sunday at National Trail Raceway and the
revised schedule is: Qualifying for Super Stock beginning at 8:30 a.m.,
followed by a time trial round for Super Comp.  Top Sportsman, Comp
Eliminator, Top Alcohol Funny Car and Top Alcohol Dragster will each get a
final qualifying round, then eliminations will begin with Super Street,
followed by Stock, Super Gas, Top Sportsman, Comp Eliminator, Top Alcohol
Funny Car, Top Alcohol Dragster, Super Stock and Super Comp.

Tickets for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event are $15.  Children 6
to 12 years old are $5 and kids 5 and under are admitted free.  For more
