Fast Track Racing Taps Bryan Silas For Talladega
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (September 23, 2006) - - Andy Hillenburg, owner
of Fast Track Racing announced today the signing of ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie
Bryan Silas to pilot a FTR (Fast Track Racing) entry in the upcoming Food
World 250 at Talladega Superspeedway on October 6th, 2006.
Silas has spent the 2006 season getting his feet wet in ARCA competition,
competing in four RE/MAX Series events at Berlin Raceway, The Milwaukee Mile,
Toledo Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway. Silas earned a best finish of 16th
earlier this month at Toledo Speedway.
Fast Track Racing has fielded cars this year in the ARCA Series for Chad
McCumbee, Pierre Bourque, Ashley Partlett and Hans-Peter Schappi.
“We’re excited to have Bryan on board with us at Talladega,?? said
Hillenburg, a former ARCA RE/MAX Series champion. “Bryan has run well in his short
stint in competition and I hope to help him become a contender each and every
race. We are confident that we arrive in Talladega strong and maybe even get
Bryan’s first top-ten.??
FTR plans to test Silas and Bourque at Talladega Superspeedway on Monday,
September 25th to get some experience on the demanding and breathtaking
2.666-mile oval. “I am looking for some competitive laps and get some good feedback
from our drivers to be a strong factor during race week,?? mentioned
Hillenburg.
Fast Track Racing will operate a two-car team at Talladega in October with
Silas and NASCAR Busch East Series rookie Pierre Bourque, who will also make
his restrictor plate debut.
“We have two talented drivers that should be very competitive in the Food
World 250,?? added Hillenburg. “Both drivers have a great desire to do well and
I am hoping that they’ll race together for a good finish in the race.??
The Food World 250 (94 laps/250 miles) is the 22nd of 23 events on the 2006
ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Practice begins Thursday, October 5th with a two
