Byte Night Speeds Ahead With Harvey Nash Racing Day
LONDON, September 22 -- As a warm up for tonight's annual Byte Night fundraising event for NCH, the children's charity, a group of young people are enjoying an exciting day out at Silverstone, going behind the scenes at the home of British grand prix racing. Harvey Nash, the global professional recruitment and IT outsourcing service provider, has organised the outing to the test session in advance of the British GT Championship.
The young people will meet the racing teams, experience the thrill of riding in GT racing cars such as Porsche 911s and Ferraris and learn about the workings of the motor racing industry.
Through the event, Harvey Nash would like to raise awareness of Byte Night, the IT industry's annual sleepout in support of young people who are coping with life after care or facing homelessness.
According to Nick Marsh, the Harvey Nash director and GT driver who organised the day, "After three years of participating in Byte Night, we wanted to go further and arrange a treat for the kids that NCH provides valuable support to. Motor racing is a fantastic day out, and going into the pit is a particularly inspiring way to learn about teamwork and a range of vocational skills. I hope this becomes part of the Byte Night tradition."
This evening, Nick and the rest of the Harvey Nash team will gather with hundreds of IT professionals in London's Victoria Tower Gardens to sleep rough in a bid to raise money for NCH. In the eight years of the event, over GBP1.3 million has been donated towards youth services.
