Archetype Joint Earns A2LA ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality Accreditation

ORION, Mich., Sept. 21 -- Archetype Joint, LLC, an independent authority that designs and tests joints, has become the first company of its kind to receive accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for meeting ISO/IEC 17025, the international quality standard for laboratories. The announcement was made by Archetype Joint Founder and President David D. Archer.

"ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is a significant achievement for our lab, in that it demonstrates that our company's processes go well beyond the control and traceability of a quality system," Archer said. "This recognition confirms that the proficiency with which we perform all customer tests, as well as our ability to calculate the measurement of certainty associated with our test results, meet internationally accepted lab standards."

This accreditation builds upon Archetype Joint's unique position in the industry, Archer said, as the only fully independent company of its kind in North America, specializing in providing joint design, testing and validation.

Archetype Joint, LLC, based in Orion, Mich., offers manufacturers a full range of independent, specialized testing and consulting services related to joint design, testing and validation. The company was founded in 2005 by David D. Archer, a 25-year design and manufacturing engineering and Design For Assembly (DFA) expert. Its mission is to help manufacturers reduce the estimated 70 percent of warranty costs and 20 percent of product recalls that are related to fasteners and joint design.
