SEAT To Unveil New Altea XL At Paris Motor Show
• The León Cupra will share the spotlight alongside the Altea XL
• The SEAT stand in Paris will feature a new design
• New navigation options across the range
PARIS - September 21, 2006: The Paris Motor Show, which will be held from September 28th to October 15th, is the backdrop chosen by SEAT for the worldwide presentation of its new model Altea XL, the latest in the SEAT range.
The SEAT Altea XL retains the sporty, innovative silhouette that has characterised the SEAT Altea since the beginning. However, the new model is geared to families that require more interior roominess and load capacity, as well as a level of safety that is tops in its category.
The SEAT Altea XL is 18.7 centimetres longer than the Altea, giving it more inside space and a bigger boot volume. Where the Altea provides 409 litres of boot space, the Altea XL features 532. When the rear seats are slid forward 14 centimetres, the boot capacity extends to 635 litres – the largest volume in its category.
The most significant changes to the exterior can be found at the rear of the vehicle, where the angles have been softened to heighten the Altea XL’s family vehicle look. The most eye-catching detail can be found on the large rear light clusters, which extend across the hatch to the body. Another element for families on the go is the luggage rack on the roof.

The León Cupra also features distinctly sporty looks, with Cupra trademark oversized bumpers compared to the basic León, spectacular 18 inch rims, shiny black door mirrors and an oval polished steel exhaust pipe. The interior oozes sportiness, with bucket sport seats, exclusive Cupra steering wheel and gearknob and black interior trim.

The rest of the SEAT range will also be on display in Paris, at a newly designed stand. With a surface area of 1,489 square metres, materials such as glass and steel, and the colours white, black, silver and red combine to create the best possible backdrop for the true stars – the SEAT models.
New navigation options across the range

The kit features obvious advantages in terms of ergonomics, functionality and safety. The TomTom navigator gets connected to the base, which is tightly attached to the dashboard. Once connected, the navigator is ready to use. The navigation instructions can be heard over the car’s speakers, and the sound volume of the radio is automatically dimmed. The same thing happens with the hands-free Bluetooth function in the navigator. Besides, the navigator is powered from its base, and is integrated with other functions of the vehicle, such as an automatic connection when the ignition key is turned.
With this new option, SEAT offers a latest-generation portable navigation system as an alternative to the integrated systems featured in the options catalogue. It can also be bought and installed at a later date. This new optional kit, as well as the TomTom GO 710 navigator, are available across the dealership network.
