Untitled Stationery Another One-Two Finish for the Edwards Brothers at Langley Speedway For Immediate Release September 16, 2006 By: Karla Watkins www.edwardsmotorsports.com Edwards Motorsports Hampton, VA NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series After a rain delay for racing at Langley Saturday night, the Crossroads Fuels Late Models were lined up for the start just minutes before midnight. With an earlier wheel spin of five, the Edwards brothers were inverted for the start of tonight’s 75-lap race. Danny started second and Greg fourth. Just as the flag flew green, the cars came across the start finish line with the first caution of the night for a seven car pile up as they entered the first turn. On the restart, Danny shot ahead in the 26 to take the lead as Greg ducked in behind the 01 of Jeff Shifflet for third. With just two laps on the board, another caution was out for a single car spin. Back under green and Danny was out front by more than three car lengths as Greg held the 27 car just behind the 01 of Shifflet. With one more lap around, the caution flag waived once again. With three laps and three cautions, it was a slow start for the late models tonight. They were back under green for three more laps and yet another caution. Six laps on the board for the restart and they were back under green. Two laps back under green and Greg noses the 27 under the 01 of Shiflett on the backstretch. Just as they entered turn 3, Shiflett shot ahead and Greg ducked in behind. Greg road it out for twenty more laps and then he made his move for second. He ducked down to the apron in turn 4 and stayed side-by-side with Shifflet for two laps until he was clear as he came out of turn 3. By lap 36, Greg was on the bumper of his brother Danny. Greg stayed close until lap 44 when he made his way under the 26 for the lead. The brothers road nose to tail for several laps but with 25 laps to go, Greg had a 5-car length lead on his brother. On lap 55, the 29 of Casey Wyatt made his way under the 26 of Danny Edwards as they entered turn 4. Wyatt road in second for one lap until Danny regained his position on the next lap as they re-entered turn 4. It wasn’t long before Danny gained a half straight-a-way lead on Wyatt and Greg was leading by a straight-a-way. The brothers held their positions for the finish. It was podium finishes for the Edwards Brothers as Greg took the Victory and Danny came in second. Greg leads the official track’s point standings. With the last Track Points Race on October 7th - that leaves only three races for the chase for the Track Championship. Edwards Motorsports has re-launched their website.
