NASCAR Legend Richard Petty to Promote ATV Safety at Press Conference
To help reverse a dramatic upward trend in ATV-related deaths and injuries, the Acting Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) will launch a major education campaign. CPSC's campaign will promote safe riding practices and participation in free training classes, and will feature public service announcements and a new Web site, which will be unveiled at a press conference. CPSC will also provide national and state death data and discuss potential new federal rules on ATVs. Partners from the nation's leading organization that educates children on ATV safety and the professional racing community will also share their experiences.
