GEICO to Hire More Than 500 for Fredericksburg Office

Career Fairs Begin September 21

FREDERICKSBURG, Va., Sept. 20 -- Since GEICO opened its Fredericksburg operations center in 1989, the office has grown to become one of the largest employers in Stafford County with nearly 3,000 associates -- and it has no plans of stopping. GEICO is now actively recruiting in the area and plans to hire 240 more new associates by the end of the year, and an additional 550 throughout 2007.

GEICO will participate in the first in a series of a career fairs on Thursday, Sept. 21, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at its Fredericksburg office location, One GEICO Blvd., Fredericksburg, Va., off Rt. 17.

  GEICO's other job fairs in the area will take place:

  * September 22 -- Dahlgren Job Fair, also known as The Corporate Gray
    "Military Friendly" Job Fair, at Northern Virginia Community College,
    Annandale, Va., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  * September 22 -- King George Job Fair, "Blue to Gray Military Job Fair,"
    at Citizens Center Building, KG Parks & Recreation, 8076 Kings Hwy.,
    King George, Va., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  * The following in-house career fairs will be held at GEICO's office,
    located at One GEICO Blvd., Fredericksburg, Va. off Rt. 17:

        Saturday, Oct. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

        Monday, Oct. 23, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

        Monday, Nov. 6, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

        Saturday, Nov. 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

        Monday, Dec. 4, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

        Thursday, Dec. 7, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Because of GEICO's continued growth, the company will hire associates for its MOAT (property insurance operations) sales and service teams, as well as its auto sales, service and claims positions. GEICO will provide training for entry-level associates, college graduates and experienced professionals to fill these positions.
