Monster Mile awaits McGill Motorsports

Tim Sauter ready for return to Dover concrete

When the NASCAR Busch Series visited the Monster Mile in Dover, DE on June 3rd it was the second race in the long “summer stretch” of sixteen straight races. Last week was the first weekend that the teams racing in the Busch Series have had time to relax and regroup since the end of May. The last month has been particularly tough on the McGill Motorsports team with several on-track incidents negating solid runs at both Bristol and Richmond.

Tim Sauter and the Lester Buildings team lead by crew chief Ricky Pearson return to the high-banked concrete track this Saturday hoping to improve on the 28th place finish in the June race at the tricky concrete surface. “We struggled early in the first race here with a tight racecar, but Ricky and the guys had the car pretty good at the end of the race,” Sauter commented. “If we can pick-up where we left off, I think we can get a much better finish for Lester Buildings this weekend.”

There are only 42 entries on the preliminary entry list for the Dover 200. 15 drivers are attempting the “double-duty” of both the Busch and Cup races this weekend.

The green flag will fly at 3:00 pm eastern on Saturday, Sept 23rd. The race can be seen live on TNT and will be broadcast on MRN radio stations across the country. Qualifying for the Dover 200 will air live on PEE beginning at 11:30 am eastern.

• The Dover 200 will be Tim’s 109th start in the NBS and 114th career NASCAR start.

• Tim is currently 26th in NBS driver points.

• All three Sauter brothers will be attempting this weekends Dover 200.

• This weekend’s race will be the sixth time Tim has competed at Dover in the NBS. Best Finish: 8th on September 21st, 2002 driving the AP Performance Chevy.

Tim’s thoughts on the Dover International Speedway: “I really like coming to Dover, the concrete is really challenging to race on. If you have a good car you really need to attack the track every lap. Some tracks you actually go faster by rolling through the corners, but at Dover you need to go hard to go fast. Even though it’s a mile- track you need to drive it more like a short track.”

• This Saturday’s race will be the fourth time McGill Motorsports has competed at Dover in the NBS. Best Finish: 22nd on June 4th, 2005 with Stanton Barrett driving and duplicated by T.J. Bell on September 24th, 2005.

Affordable primary sponsorship is available on the McGill Motorsports Chevy Monte Carlo SS for the last three races on the 2006 NBS schedule. Interested parties should contact John McGill at 440-914-4206, or visit mcgillmotorsports.com to learn more.
