WYSONG REPEATS AS ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHAMPION;

FITZGERALD SCORES IN SERIES FINALE AT SALT LAKE CITY

            Jimmy Wysong of Salt Lake City, Utah has repeated as the champion of USAC's Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series. He emerged with a 37-point cushion over former series champ Jim Waters following Saturday night's series finale at Rocky Mountain Raceways in the Utah capital where he finished fourth and Waters was second.

            Wysong's 14 career USAC victories in the state of Utah are unequalled but Dave Fitzgerald closed to within one with his victory in the 40-lap series finale. Fitzgerald, who wound up third in the standings, led the last 38 laps after passing Jim Campbell on lap three. Waters, Ryan Burdett, Wysong and Jeff Bergener rounded out the "top-five."
