TJ Woolsey and the #57 V&L Transportation Team captured their first
OSCAAR win at the 8th Annual Don Biederman Memorial Race. Fresh from an
OSCAAR personal best with 2nd at Mosport, TJ Woolsey was very happy with
his win at Peterborough Speedway. Taking home his first win from this
prestigious event was even sweeter! After the race he was speechless and
just held that big smile. When reality settled in, TJ expressed "Thanks
to my crew and to all my sponsors. My tires started to go away but then
after that last caution the tires cooled down. At the restart I had good
grip which helped me keep the lead over Glenn and John. Too bad for
Lloyd, he was real fast tonight."

Taking home another second place finish, Glenn Watson and the #22
Race2Way.ca/Rival Office Solutions Team have far exceeded the
expectations of a rookie year. Starting 5th on the grid, Watson moved to
3rd by lap 15 and held his position fending off a hard charging John
Fletcher. When Ritchie slowed down with less than 10 laps to go, Watson
took over 2nd place. "We were fortunate we decided not to come in for
tires like others were doing. The car was real loose yet we held on for
the race. We ended up changing the clutch this afternoon. Overall we are
really happy!"

The JNE Consulting #61 Team of John Fletcher took 3rd place. Fletcher
and Clarke treated the fans to a classic side-by-side, lap after lap
battle with Clarke eventually pulling ahead. He would later lose that
lead when pitting for tires. During the lap 45 caution flag, Fletcher
took his Outlaw pit side for a change of tires. Restarting near the back
Fletcher quickly moved through the field. John said, "my car was loose
at the end of the race though we still had a good run. Thanks to all the
fans for coming out for the Biederman event. Good finish for TJ, a good
run for him."

Drew Spicer and the Spicers Towing #89 team came across the finish line
in 4th spot. Spicer worked his way up through the field from 11th on the
grid and captured the POTG Hard Charger Award. Rob Clarke took home a
5th place finish. The London Mechanical Plumbing and Heating/JBM Leasing
Team went for a tire change around lap 57 but there were not enough laps
for Clarke to catch the leaders.

Rounding out the top ten from 6th to 10th were ASA Alloys Inc #67 of
Phil Bullen, John Owen Performance Engines #2 of John Owen, V&L
Transportation #93 of Steve Lyons, The Diesel Doctors #7.3 of Ken
Hayward and the Standing Arrows Smoke Shop #62 of Lloyd Ritchie.

The fans saw some awesome racing by the #62 of Lloyd Ritchie. Ritchie
put on a blistering pace for the majority of the race having led 69 of
the 75 laps and no one was able to challenge him for the lead. He was
racing tight around the track. Unfortunately, Lady Luck was not with
Ritchie and his pace started to drop off with less than 10 laps to go.
Even though he eventually ran out of fuel Ritchie finished the feature
in 10th. Ritchie exclaimed, "with the extra 25 laps and a number of
caution laps we misjudged the amount of fuel required. A small
consolation was knowing that my car ran well. I've got brakes now. I
thought it was a master cylinder and discovered the brake pedal was the
problem. The car felt good." The #62 Team also took home their second
heat race of the season. They were also glad to receive the Biederman
race speciality awards: Cathcart Trucking Inc Most Laps Lead and Leader
Halfway Awards and the Abrams Towing Pole Award.

OSCAAR would like to send out a big thank you to the staff at
Peterborough Speedway for hosting a very successful event and to all the
fans who came out to watch the race. Thank you to all the sponsors

make this another great Don Biederman Memorial!
