ELIMINATIONS BEGIN AT NORTH CENTRAL SUMMIT FINALS 
 
            INDIANAPOLIS - Eliminations began today at the NHRA North
Central Division Summit Racing Series at O'Reilly Raceway Park.  Racers
from all over the region are vying for team and individual honors in the
categories of Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Super Pro Bike, High School and
Junior Dragster.  Racers are competing for cash awards totaling $70,850
with High School and Junior Dragsters competing for trophies.
            Individual winners in each category will advance to a
national run-off at the NHRA Auto Club of Southern California Finals at
Pomona Raceway in November.  In Pomona, Summit Division Champions will
vie for a National Championship and a winner-take-all $5,000 award in
each class.  Each driver also receives an extra $3,500 just for making
the trip to Pomona.
            2005 team champion, Gateway International Raceway, is
looking to repeat. The home track, O'Reilly Raceway Park, finished
second in 2005 by just one point and is looking to use their experience
and knowledge of the track to their advantage and hopefully take home
the trophy this year.
Racing continues Sunday with gates at O'Reilly Raceway Park opening at 7
a.m. O'Reilly Raceway Park is located on Indiana Highway 136, four miles
