Parrot Announces the Launch of Bluetooth(R) Hands-Free System (BTHFU: Bluetooth(R) Hands-Free Units)

PARIS--Sept. 14, 2006--As a chairing member of the Bluetooth SIG Automobile working group, Parrot is a specialist in Bluetooth(R) hands-free telephony in the car. The company designs and markets advanced hands- free systems which are compatible with Bluetooth-equipped mobile phones.

The BTHFU, developed jointly with Visteon, integrates Parrot innovations such as digital signal processing, echo-cancellation and noise reduction, which will first be installed in the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy in China.

"We are very happy to collaborate with Visteon, one of the leading automotive equipment suppliers worldwide, on the development of hands-free systems which should become widely applicable as a car standard equipment," comments Henri Seydoux, Founder and CEO of Parrot.

Parrot is one of a small number of companies working to develop its own Bluetooth protocol stack as opposed to relying on third-party code. Key technology areas include the design of Bluetooth chipsets, integrated circuit design and the development of advanced voice digital signal processing (DSP) software in order to favor a smooth interaction between drivers, their car and their mobile phones.
