Chicago's Largest Cab Company Honors 51 Outstanding Drivers
WHEN: Thursday, September 14 11 a.m. WHERE: Chicago Carriage Cab cab barn 2617 South Wabash Avenue WHO & WHAT: Top Cabbies Saluted & Serenaded -- Simon Garber, former cabbie and founder of Chicago Carriage Cab (CCC) -- Chicago's largest cab company with over 700 cars on the road -- presents 50 outstanding drivers with $50 vouchers for free gas fill- ups as CCC celebrates its third anniversary. -- CCC 2005-2006 Driver of the Year Milton Roberts -- a Chicago cabbie since 1967 -- puts his handprint and signature in wet cement and adds them to CCC's Driver Walk of Fame. Roberts also receives a cash award. -- Classic Chicago Blues performed by Piano C. Red and his Flat Foot Boogie Band. Red, formerly a CCC driver and musician, was paralyzed by a robber's bullet last March.
