JM Family Enterprises, Inc. Ranks No. 9 on InformationWeek 500; Company Included on List for Fifth Consecutive Year; Second Year in Top 10

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla.--Sept. 12, 2006--Diversified automotive company JM Family Enterprises, Inc. (JM Family) has ranked No. 9 on the InformationWeek 500, an annual list of the nation's leading technology innovators. It is the highest-ranked Florida company. This is the fifth consecutive year JM Family has made the prestigious list and the second time it has appeared in the top 10. The rankings were announced at the InformationWeek 500 conference on September 11 in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

"Offering the most innovative technology solutions is at the core of our company and we are committed to delivering value to our internal clients and business partners," said Ken Yerves, chief information officer for JM Family Enterprises and president of JM Service Center, the company's internal shared service center which oversees information technology operations. "We are honored to be recognized among the top 10 innovators in the United States, a tribute to our team of committed associates."

For the past 18 years, InformationWeek has identified and honored the nation's most innovative users of information technology (IT) with its annual listing. It is unique among corporate rankings because it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders. Additional details on the InformationWeek 500 can be found online at http://www.informationweek.com/500/06/.

"We'd like to extend our sincere congratulations to all InformationWeek 500 honorees. These companies represent today's leading technology innovators, many of whom have joined us this week," said InformationWeek publishing director, Fritz Nelson, at the conference. "This group has prompted fascinating discussion on some of the most forward looking business technology initiatives to date."

According to Yerves, JM Family's inclusion on the list is due in part to several significant technological achievements in 2005. Most notable was a transformation of its Information Technology Services department from a transactional service provider to that of a strategic business partner with the company's various businesses. Another initiative successfully adapted and marketed internal IT products and services to outside companies. Profits generated from this self-funding model are reinvested back into JM Family in areas such as research and development and infrastructure refreshes. It also lowers customers' costs and funds internal IT projects.
