GEICO to Hire Over 600 for Tucson Office

Career Expo Scheduled at Tucson Convention Center on September 13

TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 12 -- Since GEICO opened its operations center in Tucson in 2003, the office has grown to employ over 500 associates at its 930 N. Finance Center Drive location -- and it has no plans of stopping. GEICO is now actively recruiting in the region and plans to add 600 new associates in the next 15 months to serve its growing number of policyholders.

GEICO will launch hiring plans at the Career Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center.

Because of GEICO's continued growth, the company will hire associates for its customer service and claim departments. GEICO will provide training for entry-level associates, college graduates and experienced professionals to fill these positions. GEICO also seeks to fill day and evening positions.

DeLea Moffitt, a native of Tucson and a graduate of the University of Arizona, joined GEICO in 2004 and works in Human Resources. In the past two years, she has learned that "GEICO is more than a job, it is a career." She said, "You won't find a better employer in town who truly cares about its associates. With my benefits package, profit-sharing plan, and job stability, the opportunities to advance here are endless. If you are looking for a motivating and invigorating environment, GEICO is the place for you."

"This is a great time to build a career with GEICO," said Martha Furnas, assistant vice president and head of GEICO's Tucson location. "We expect tremendous growth in the coming months and are looking for well-qualified associates who want to grow with GEICO and be part of our success. We know we can find the well-qualified people we need here in Tucson."

Furnas continued, "Our quality training and our supportive culture provide a positive and successful work environment for our associates. Our new associates value the high standards of customer service that we expect, and they feel that it is a reflection of how they will be treated by GEICO." To submit an application online, readers should go to http://www.geico.com/ and click open the Careers tab. Then open the link to GEICO locations (right hand column) and select Tucson, Az. for job listings and to fill out an online employment application.
