ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHASE ENDS SATURDAY

USAC's 2006 Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champion will be crowned Saturday night at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah and a repeat champion is virtually assured.

Jimmy Wysong hopes to successfully defend his 2005 title, while Jim Waters seeks his third series title. Dave Fitzgerald ranks third and is a long shot to garner his first series championship. A total of 76 points are available and Wysong leads Waters by 30 and Fitzgerald by 68.

The trio are USAC's winningest drivers ever in the Beehive state. Wysong has 14 total wins, while Fitzgerald has 12 and Waters eight. Wysong has won 11 of the last 17 in Utah. Waters last won in 2005 and Fitzgerald in 2004.
