Andretti Finishes Disappointing 18th in NYSE Car
at Chicagoland Speedway

JOLIET, Ill. (Sept. 10, 2006) - What started as a promising race turned sour when a broken
wheel caused NYSE driver Marco Andretti to go a lap down en route to an 18th place finish Sunday
afternoon at the Peak Antifreeze Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.
Andretti, starting the event from 14th place on the grid, piloted the #26 NYSE car into the top 10
just 10 laps into the event. By lap 20 he had attained eighth place in the standings, where he would
comfortably remain until lap 60 when a broken right rear wheel caused the tire to deflate, forcing him to
make a green flag pit stop. The stop dropped him back into the field and one lap off the pace. Unable to
keep pace with the lead group, he eventually fell another lap down before finishing the race in 18th place.
Dan Wheldon took the victory with Scott Dixon second, Sam Hornish Jr. third, Helio Castroneves
fourth and Ed Carpenter rounding out the top five. Hornish captured his third IndyCar Series
championship.
Andretti concludes the 2006 season seventh in the driver point standings with 325 points, as well
as earning Bombardier Rookie of the Year honors.

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"This was not the way we wanted to follow up our win (at Infineon). The NYSE car was decent at
the start, but then we broke the right rear wheel and went a lap down. After that we just never got back to
where we needed to be. It was just a disappointing day. I am proud of the job the NYSE crew did today
and all season; they helped me reach the three goals I'd set before the year began."

Kyle Moyer, General Manager, Andretti Green Racing:
"This was definitely not the way we wanted to end the season. The broken wheel really put us
behind the rest of the field and we were never able to regain our momentum after that."
