IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY SALUTES THE KINGS OF THE ROAD

IRWINDALE, Calif. (September 6, 2006) – The kings of the road will be celebrated this Saturday (September 9) on Fleet Services Customer Appreciation Night during Trucker’s Night presented by ACDelco and Warren Distributing. A full slate of racing as well as a big rig beauty contest in which truck drivers will be able to enter their trucks in competition for best in show, vintage truck, working truck and people’s choice awards.

Despite Chris Johnson’s (Claremont, Calif.) two-race win streak and David Beat’s (Santee, Calif.) string of back-to-back runner-up finishes and a victory in his last three outings, Tucson’s (Ariz.)Van Knill has managed to maintain a 16 point lead over Beat to lead the Lucas Oil Super Late Model Division.

Aided by a four-race consecutive win streak, Greg Crutcher of Covina, Calif. has narrowed the points gap to 37 between him and Vista Paint Super Stock division leader Bryan Harrell of Riverside, Calif.

While rookie KJ Garrison of Indio, Calif. has been victorious in his last two Legend Cars starts, Alta Loma’s (Calif.) Tom Landreth has turned in consistent performances to maintain a 62 point division lead over Lindsey King of Cherry Valley, Calif.

Justice Brothers Pure Stocks racing action will feature a unique racing twin bill of oval track and figure 8 competition. Division points leader Rick Crow of Simi Valley, Calif. is riding a four-race win streak and maintains a 54 point lead over Harry Michaelian of Lawndale, Calif.

The Grand American Modifieds make their final appearance of the season at Irwindale Speedway with John Watkinson of Canyon Country, Calif. leading the division in points.
