Douglas Motorsports - PRO-2 #7 Rancho Suspension AMSOIL Kumho Tire Ford F-150
Back-to-Back Podium Finishes at the BorgWarner Off-Road Championships
Douglas Motorsports came to Crandon International Off-Road Raceway for
the final time in 2006, looking to use his extensive background at the
?Big House of Off-Road Racing,? to keep his #7 Rancho Suspension
AMSOIL Kumho Tire Ford F-150 in contention for the 2006 PRO-2
championship.
The weather at the Northern Wisconsin facility was picture perfect all
weekend long. The skies were sunny and the temperatures in the upper
70?s. The Crandon track crew once again had the track perfectly
groomed and ready for the weekend competition.
Saturday - Round 11
The seventeen-truck field lined up for the land rush start with
?Rancho? Scott Douglas in the fourth position, with a great line in to
the infamous Potawatomi Turn One. At the drop of the green flag,
Scott applied the ProPower horsepower to the Kumho Tires and came out
of the first turn in the sixth spot. At the end of the first lap Scott
quickly moved into third place with the #8 of Scott Taylor in fourth.
The remaining eight laps saw Taylor challenge the #7 Rancho PRO-2 for
the position several times, but the Rancho engineered suspension kept
the truck on its marks and ahead of the former champion. At the
checkered flag Scott Douglas came home in third place.
Sunday ? Round 12
The land rush start saw Scott come out of the first turn in fourth
place right on the heels of #5 Evans. On lap 2 the #7 Rancho PRO-2
moves around Evans for the third position. By the end of the fifth lap
Scott grabs second place just behind the leader, #1 Renezeder. As
Scott tries to chase down the leader, he opens the gap between himself
and fourth place #80 Oberg. The last three laps have the Top 5 drivers
hold their positions, giving Scott Douglas a second place finish.
?I just can?t say enough about the new tire Kumho gave us this year.
This tire has a new compound and tread design, and works awesome. Just
look at my tires, after nine laps of abuse and they look brand new. It
is truly an awesome tire. The two podium finishes are keeping us in
the hunt for the championship. The points battle will make the final
four rounds in San Diego very exciting.? ? comments from Scott Douglas.
With twelve of sixteen rounds of racing completed, Scott Douglas has
moved up two positions and currently is in fifth place in the 2006
CORR PRO-2 championship standings.
Next Race ? September 23-24 ? Chula Vista, CA
Scott would like to thank all his supporters including: Rancho
