Douglas Motorsports - PRO-4 #7 AMSOIL ?Super Team? Rancho Suspension
Kumho Tire Ford F-150
AMSOIL PRO-4 ?Super Team? Three Peats at the BorgWarner World Championships
As Scott Douglas and his PRO-4 #7 AMSOIL ?Super Team Rancho
Suspension Kumho Tire Ford F-150 headed to Crandon, the team was
looking to back up their recent win at Bark River. ?When we come to
Crandon, everyone brings their ?A? game. When you win at the ?Big
House? you have won against the best short-course drivers in the
world,? commented Scott Douglas.
Round 11 ? BorgWarner PRO-4
Scott Douglas lined up in the second position for the traditional land
rush start. When the green flag fell, #11 Adrian Cenni won the race to
Potawatomi Turn One with Scott right on his bumper. Just about halfway
through the opening lap, Scott made a clean pass on Cenni to grab the
lead. From that point on Scott never looked back. The remaining eight
laps saw Douglas stay out front giving the #7 AMSOIL ?Super Team?
PRO-4 its second victory of the year. The win in Round 11 gives Scott
Douglas the 2006 World Championship PRO-4 title. As winner of this
round of racing, Scott is awarded the unique 2006 World Championship
ring.
?This truck, this team, this win is just awesome. The AMSOIL ?Super
Team? Rancho Suspension Kumho Tire Ford F-150 is fast and just won?t
quit. Our engine temperature was near 300 degrees, but with AMSOIL in
the engine, there?s nothing to worry about. To win here, is just
incredible. The Kumho Tires allows us to use all the power our
ProPower engine has to give. The Rancho Suspension keeps the truck
flying straight and fast through the corners? I also want thank all
the great fans in Crandon, without them we wouldn?t be here,? said
Scott Douglas.
Round 12 ? North Lights Casino PRO-4
The land rush start saw Scott fly down the front straightaway,
grabbing the lead coming out of Turn One. In hot pursuit were Josh
Baldwin and Carl Renezeder. Once again the #7 AMSOIL ?Super Team
Rancho Suspension Kumho Tire Ford F-150 was running perfect. Midway
through the race, Scott built up a seven second lead. As the race
wound down, Renezeder made a final charge, but once again, the
competition couldn?t over take Scott for the win.
?I can?t believe it, two in a row,? stated Scott Douglas. ?Last night
the changes the crew made on the cooling system really worked well and
were back here celebrating again. Two weeks ago we asked Kumho for a
different compound and a deeper groove and they really came through.
The team has been really fine-tuning this truck and now it?s really
beginning to show. Hat?s off to all the guys at the shop and here at
the track.?
Scott Douglas had conquered Crandon back-to-back. Suddenly the
question on everyone?s mind was, ?Could Douglas out run the Toyota?s
of Greaves and Huseman for the Shootout??
12th Annual BorgWarner World Championship Manufacturers? Shootout
This unique event pits PRO-2 (two wheel drive) against PRO-4 (four
wheel drive) trucks in a 10-lap shootout. The winner of the event can
take home over $25,000 in less than 15 minutes. The eight PRO-2 trucks
get a quarter mile head start on the sixteen PRO-4 trucks.
When the green flag dropped, the roar of the twenty-four, 800+
horsepower trucks put the standing room only crowd into a cheering
frenzy. By the third lap Scott Douglas had passed most of the PRO-2
trucks and looking to get around Taylor and Whelchel for the lead. The
fourth lap saw Scott Douglas take the lead for good. Quickly Scott
was able to build a small cushion over second place as Whelchel and
Renezeder banged one another round. Eventually Renezeder made the pass
stick, but by then Scott and his #7 AMSOIL ?Super Team Rancho
Suspension Kumho Tire Ford F-150 was well out in front. When the
checkered flag fell, Scott Douglas became the second two-time winner
of this prestigious event.
?This win puts Kumho, AMSOIL, Rancho and our other sponsors on the
off-road racing map in a big way. A special thanks to the companies
that have supported us all these years like including Rancho, DynoMax,
Tenneco, Ford Trucks, KC HiLites, Reider Racing, Precision Gear. I
can?t forget to thank BorgWarner for supporting this event, and
building incredible products. When we won ten years ago, we ran a
BorgWarner transfer case, and we still do to this day! Without their
support we wouldn?t be here today.?
?This has been a dream weekend. On the podium five times in one
weekend. Not just any race weekend, but at Crandon for the BorgWarner
Off-Road Championships.?
?I can?t forget to thank Gus Frank and everyone at Potawatomi Northern
Lights Casino. The support of this race facility and the surrounding
community makes possible for all of us to enjoy competing and watching
the sport that we love.? ? comments from Scott Douglas.
On hand, during the victory celebration were:
· Cindy Niekamp, president, BorgWarner Torque Transfer Systems to
present the $20,000 prize money and the sterling silver and gold World
Championship trophy;

the $2,100 Potawatomi Northern Lights Casino award &

CORR PRO-4 championship standings.
