Environmental Solutions Worldwide Inc. Receives $1.22 Million Order for TempMax(TM) Catalyst Enabling Exhaust Tubes on Behalf of International Truck and Engine Corporation
CONCORD, Ontario--Sept. 6, 2006--Environmental Solutions Worldwide, Inc. (ESW) (OTCBB:ESWW) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary ESW Canada has received an order valued at $1.22 million for TempMax(TM) catalyst enabling exhaust tubes. The order was placed by NewStream Enterprises(R), International's(R) specialty parts kitting and distribution partner, based out of Springfield, Missouri. International Truck and Engine Corporation (International(R)) is the operating company of Navistar International Corporation located in Warrenville, Illinois.Due to the overwhelming success of the TempMax(TM) product launch at International's(R) Parts and Service Expo in San Antonio, Texas in April 2006, ESWC received this first order for TempMax(TM) tubes. The TempMax(TM) created and manufactured by ESWC, is a new engine exhaust tube designed to be installed as a direct replacement to the existing Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) factory unit. This tube is located between the engine turbo-charger and the existing muffler.
Currently, retrofitting school buses with high performance Level II(1.) and Level III(1.) catalytic aftertreatment devices is limited by the temperature profile of the engine exhaust at the inlet of the aftertreatment device. This temperature profile is critical in order to sustain the long term catalyst performance in its application. Such exhaust temperature profiles are characterized by the engine duty cycle, vehicle load factors and operator driving characteristics. Insufficient temperatures cause high performance catalyst technologies to plug prematurely or to be excluded from being used on a larger cross-section of applications.
The products available in the market today to combat this temperature deficiency are either cumbersome reflective blankets or wrapping the tube with insulation strip materials. These low-tech solutions are expensive, bulky in design, difficult to install, provide minimum heat retention and generally lack field durability. In contrast, TempMax(TM) is an all steel, direct tube replacement technology devoid of external insulation materials. TempMax(TM) delivers the engines exhaust heat energy with very little temperature loss directly to the aftertreatment device. TempMax(TM) by design also provides an exhaust sound reduction with the added safety feature of maintaining a significantly lower temperature on the tubes outer surface. TempMax(TM) is proven to optimize the level of catalytic aftertreatment applied to diesel powered school buses.
Mr. David J. Johnson, ESW's President and CEO commented, "I am very pleased to announce the first sale of the catalyst enabling TempMax(TM) exhaust tube, which has been specifically designed for school bus applications. It is exciting to launch a new proprietary technology like the TempMax(TM) and to be able to bring it to the retrofit and OEM market with our partner International(R). This new line has the potential to become a leading product in the industry by enabling the highest performing diesel catalyst technology available to be applied to an engine. The demand for the TempMax(TM) has been excellent and we are currently in the process of broadening the demographic to fit other engine and vehicle applications for both on and off-road markets."
