TI Automotive Adopts Pulsar Magnetic Pulse Welding Systems for Automotive Air-Conditioning Components

Leading Global Manufacturer of Automotive HVAC Systems to use Pulsar MPW 25 to Weld Automotive Dryers

YAVNE, Israel, September 6 -- Pulsar, the driving force in magnetic pulse solutions for manufacturing industries, announced today the installation of its MPW 25 magnetic pulse welding system at the TI Automotive production plant in Reynosa, Mexico.

TI Automotive is a leading manufacturer of automotive heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as brake and fuel systems. TI Automotive will use Pulsar's MPW 25 system for welding 45mm receiver dryers - a component of an automotive HVAC system. The Pulsar MPW 25 machine replaces a MIG welder on a working line, and has increased production throughput to approximately 1000 parts per shift with much higher quality, dramatically lower scrap rate and no re-works.

Steve Taylor, Global Operations Director - HVAC at TI Automotive, said, "Replacing the existing MIG welder with the Pulsar MPW 25 machine was a straightforward process. We were able to plug the MPW 25 machine into a running production line with minimum adaptations. MPW 25 requires no special skills from our operators, keeping our production costs stable. The machine is producing thousands of parts every week, with an overall quality that exceeds our expectations. We see how Pulsar is fully committed to our success, which gives us a lot of confidence for the future."

Brian Quinn, Global Technology Director - HVAC at TI Automotive said, "I am happy we were able to translate our confidence in this new technology into a successful project. We look forward to using the Pulsar technology for additional products and applications".

Commenting on the new installation, Mr. Rani Plaut, CEO of Pulsar, said: "We are pleased to see another major manufacturer using a Pulsar system to improve their production output. In a short time, TI Automotive engineers adopted the MPW 25 process and were able to ramp up to full 24-hour production. We are delighted to note that TI is considering Pulsar as one of its 'processes of choice' for future products and projects and we are fully committed to their success."
