SPRINTS HEADED FOR "SHOW ME" STATE FRIDAY;

TRI-STATE OFFERS VICTORY #1 FOR CLAYTON

            Tony Stewart Racing teammates Josh Wise and Levi Jones take their torrid battle for the 2006 USAC National Sprint Car Championship to the "Show Me" State Friday night, debuting at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.

            Jones, the defending series champion, and Wise enter Friday night's race separated by just two points in one of the tightest point races in series history. A 30-lap feature is on tap.

            Wise took the point lead away from Jones Saturday night, finishing fourth at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. Jones was leading Saturday's feature when he flipped on lap 24, his car ending up hung up on the track's catch fencing. Jones was not injured in the incident.

            Daron Clayton of Sikeston, Mo. scored his first USAC feature victory in the 40-lap USAC/MSCS race, leading the last 18 laps after Jones' accident. He and his Clayton Fabrication/Weld Racing DRC/Foxco were trailed at the checkered flag by Mat Neely, Dave Darland, Wise and Bryan Clauson.
