OSWEGO CANCELED, NORTHEAST SERIES CONCLUDES AT SEEKONK

 

 

INDIANAPOLIS - Ryan Smith needs only to start the next USAC Northeast Ford Focus Midget Car Series feature race to earn the second-year series championship.

 

Smith, of Kunkletown, Pa., left a soggy Oswego Speedway on Sunday with a 59-point advantage after the penultimate event at the 1/3-mile track was rained out. The race was first postponed, and now appears to be cancelled, leaving Smith only to start next month's race at Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts.

 

Jeff Abold is second in points, while Nick Wean is in third.
