CRA SPRINTS Heads for Ventura

Ventura (Calif.) Raceway is the venue for Saturday night's racing program featuring one of America's most spectacular racing series - the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars.

Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif. recovered from a flip in last Saturday night's race at Perris, Calif. to finish 10th and retain the series point lead over Cory Kruseman who trails by 34 points in the new standings. Kruseman was 16th at Perris.

Mike Spencer came from behind in the final corner to win at The PAS (Perris Auto Speedway), beating fast qualifier Tony Jones, Johnny Rodriguez, Blake Miller and R.J. Johnson.

Spencer and his Murrieta Development/Spenco Machine TCR/RC Performance Special were the last of five race leaders, including four in the final eight laps! Josh Ford led the first 21 laps, then Danny Sheridan led the next 12. Gardner then led four laps before he and Sheridan tangled and Gardner flipped. Jones then paced laps 38 and 39 but slipped behind Spencer in the final turn.
