Hines smoked Ellis right off the line and never looked backed on his way to a 25-foot margin of victory and a 7.062/188.15 mph run to Ellis’ 7.114/184.75 mph run. This year marks the second year that Ellis was the bridesmaid in the specialty event. Hines collected his second career Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle title and the third consecutive Pro Bike Battle championship for Harley-Davidson. Hines’ teammate GT Tonglet brought home the honors in 2005. If Hines can win the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals Pro Stock Motorcycle $10,000 prize, NHRA will pay him an additional double-up bonus worth another $10,000. Hines could take home a total of $45,000 for a pretty sweet payday.
