KEMET Expands Surface-Mount Ceramic Open Mode/Fail Safe X7R MLCC Portfolio With Extended Capacitance Values

GREENVILLE, S.C., Sept. 1 -- KEMET Corporation today announced the expansion of their "Open Mode/Fail Safe" multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) portfolio with extended capacitance values in the X7R dielectric. The new extended capacitance values range from 0.22 microfarads to 4.7 microfarads at rated voltages from 6.3 to 50 volts in EIA 0805, 1206, and 1210 case sizes. These components, which are widely used in automotive circuits, power supplies (input and output filters), and any critical application where mechanical stress is a concern, meet the requirements of the Automotive Electronics Council's AEC-Q200-Rev C.

The operating temperature range of the X7R dielectric capacitor is between -55 degrees C and +125 degrees C, with zero bias capacitance shift limited to +/-15%C over that range. These capacitors are RoHS compliant, with 100% pure matte tin-plated terminations for excellent solderability.
