Budco Passes ISO Surveillance Audit: Zero Corrective Actions

DETROIT--Aug. 31, 2006--Budco, the Highland Park marketing services and distribution company, completed its ISO 9001:2000 Surveillance Audit, on August 23, 2006. The audit was performed by Ronald Muldoon of Lloyd's Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA), a registrar headquartered in London.

According to Quality Manager, Karen Kurylo, Budco has been undergoing audits by LRQA annually since the company was first certified in December 1996 -- a requirement to maintain its ISO 9001:2000 status. The company passed this particular audit with zero non-conformities, the best result possible.

"The overall objective of the surveillance audit is to ensure that our processes continue to be effective for the company and are being properly maintained," said Ms. Kurylo.

"Even though the surveillance audits concern our entire quality operating system," said Ms. Kurylo, "each year, our auditor closely targets select areas of the company. This audit focused on Information Technologies, Shipping & Receiving, Warehousing, and Sales & Marketing."

Budco was among the first marketing services companies to achieve ISO certification, successfully applying a process approach to a non-manufacturing business. Its ISO processes have become more sophisticated over the years as the company has evolved to meet the needs of an increasingly technology driven marketplace.
